Audacity Tutorial: Capturing High-Fidelity Audio From Any Website

Some apps don't allow users to download audio to their computers for offline listening.  However, with the right tool, we can download the files for offline use.

1   Prepare your tool app: Audacity 3.0.0.

Download the app Audacity from their website. It is an easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.

2  Set your Audacity to record from your computer

First, in the main menu, go to View > Toolbars> select Device Toolbar.

Then, scroll down where you see [MME] and select "Windows WASAPI", which sets Audacity to record sound from other programs on the computer.

3  Ensures that Audacity will capture your computer's internal audio without recording sound from the microphone by changing "Microphone Array" to "Speaker (loopback)". If the audiobooks are playing through headphones, you should click Headphones (loopback) here instead.

4   Now, just play the audio as normal from the internet while keeping the Audacity App open and press the record button to start your recording. Be careful not to play other audio on the computer, because it will record anything that is playing on the computer at that moment.

5  You can use headphones so you won't hear the computer playing while it is recording, and the beauty of this setup is that you can make any noise around the computer and it won't affect your recording.
